Enrollment and Attendance FAQs

Who is eligible to attend Insight School of Wisconsin (ISWI)?

Any student in grades 9–12 who resides in Wisconsin and is 20 years old or younger on the first day of the school year* and who meets the definition of “at risk.”**

How many students are allowed to enroll at ISWI?

Students are admitted subject to capacity requirements.

What does it cost to attend ISWI?

Because ISWI is a public virtual school, there is no tuition. We provide Wisconsin-licensed teachers and instructional materials. Families are responsible for providing some common household materials (such as printer ink and paper). Our enrollment consultants can help address your technological and computer questions and needs.

What information is required for enrollment?

We are a school of choice, so enrollment documents include a District Release Form (sometimes called a “Choice Form”), which requires a signature from the resident school district and a legal guardian. We also require Proof of Residence including the name of a legal guardian on the student account and the physical address of the residence.

Proof of Residence documents we accept include:

  • Utility bill (gas, water, cable, electric, phone land line)
  • Car insurance statement
  • Lease agreement
  • Driver’s license
  • Car registration
  • Benefit assistance letters (food stamps, TANF, etc)

Can students enroll and begin classes at any time of the year?

What is the attendance policy?

Can our family take a vacation during the school year?

If my student has been expelled from another school, can they enroll at ISWI?

How do I get a transcript?
